      Welcome to my poultry website. My name is Julie Batchelor and my backyard flock is my hobby. It all started a few years ago when I moved to the country on two small acres. At that time, I knew nothing about chickens. I got a few hens from a local farmer and there my journey began! I had no idea how interesting it would be and how much I would enjoy having chickens. As I began to research, I decided I wanted to raise certain breeds rather than just raise "mutt" chickens. As a result, I concluded my favorite breeds to keep were Japanese Silkies, English Orpingtons and Rhode Island Reds. Due to space in my breeding pens, however, I have recently decided to only develop my Orpingtons and, sadly, cut my Silkie and Rhode Island Red programs out. I had decided I would like to have show-quality stock and have been working to improve my flock since then. I am NPIP Certified. On this journey I have met many wonderful poultry keepers and learned so much with access to poultry forums on the internet. There are many poultry enthusiasts from whom I have gained much knowledge. At times I have hatching eggs for sale, and sometimes adult chickens and chicks are available. Please enjoy this site and contact me if you have any questions.
